IT HAS BEEN five years since Andrew and Brianne Ryback bought their 1960s row house in the Trinidad neighborhood of Washington, DC. It didn’t take half that long for the young couple to put their hip stamp on the place. Graffiti art, accent walls of chrome yellow, apple green, Bahamian Sea Blue and black-and-gold skull wallpaper, a midcentury Tanker desk in the home office.
Bree gets to use that office as a federal contractor and founder of the wedding blog Capitol Romance. And that’s while she’s tending to young Evelyn and mini-dachshund Sadie. Andy put a lot of himself into this house, laying flooring, stripping drywall to reveal brick, building a shelving unit for the kitchen.
The true spirit of the Rybacks’ renovation is in the selection of wall colors. Lively and well thought out, they take the two-story row house out of the past and into a vivid future. Edwina Benites-LM of Jalapeño Photography took these photos and featured them on Houzz.com.
