LAST FALL a handsome 1957 brick rambler found its way onto the Palisades home tour, concentrated in this leafy neighborhood of Northwest Washington hard by the Potomac River.
We just discovered the before-and-after pix of the property on the Houzz.com site, plus the explanation for all the changes made by owners David Benton and Dennis Kirk, who point out how lucky they are to have a country house in the city.
One of our favorite decisions made by the two, Benton being an architect with Rill Architects: They ripped out the struggling lawn and replaced it with cascades of lavender and rosemary and bear’s breech (yes, we’re going to look that one up).
Enjoy the before and after; we did.
