MAYBE IT’S BECAUSE I’m not a surfer dude, but this combination of locomotion and libation was unknown to me until recently. Reef describes its Mick Fanning Signature Series men’s flip-flops as being made with a water-friendly synthetic nubuck upper and a “contoured compression molded EVA footbed.” Only then did I learn why your man will be the “hit of the party” when he wears them: There’s a bottle opener embedded in the sole. And, yes, Reef cheekily recommends removing the sandal before popping open that brewski. This footwear has been around for several years now . . . but I lead such a sheltered life.
