I’VE OWNED MY Amalfi gold-flecked black satin shoes with a gold-and-black tulle bow at the toe since Garfinckel’s shuttered its doors in 1990. I bought them at the department store’s final sale; they came to a grand total of about $40. I’m a big believer in the idea that shoes can make an outfit, and these mid-heel pumps have come to my rescue too many times to count in the past 25 years. I’m not ready to part with them, but here are 10 pairs, including flats and high heels that I have my eye on for the next week of parties and any festive occasions that should pop up on my calendar.
