Dr. Tina Alster of Washington Institute of Dermatologic Laser Surgery recently held a fashion fundraiser at Christian Dior at The Collection at Chevy Chase. Guests were treated to champagne and hors d’oeuvre while taking in Dior’s fall and winter collection. Guests also learned about the laser treatment that Dr. Alster pioneered to treat port-wine stains and other birthmarks. People travel from far and wide to have their children or themselves treated by Dr. Alster. She is an active member of the Sturge-Weber Foundation, which is the only nonprofit organization dedicated to finding a cure and improving treatment for port-wine stains, Sturge-Weber Syndrome and Klippel-Trenaunay Syndrome. During the week of the event, Dr. Alster’s fundraiser collected $50,000 in sales of which 10% was donated to the foundation.

Dr. Alster also took the time to introduce Dr. Rebecca Kazin, who heads up the newest location in Chevy Chase at 5550 Friendship Boulevard, Suite 110.
