GET READY FOR a mid-season reset. Change the focus from investing in new clothes to splurging on accessories. In MyLittleBird’s latest fashion shoot for FW, we uncovered the season’s best new accents–with fur, fringe and shine.
Designers had a field day with fringe for fall, reinventing the look associated with flappers and gunslingers for modern bohemians, as in Michael Kors’ fringe-trimmed suede skirt and Amina Rubinacci’s lush, fringe- edged cashmere scarf. On Joseph Altuzarra’s fall runway, the sharp elegance of a double-face cashmere skirt suit goes more casual with a rustic fringe scarf.
The go-to fur of the moment, shearling is not only on trend, it will keep you warm in the event of another no-good, very bad winter. Vince’s asymmetric, zip- front fur-trimmed vest plays nicely with Sarah Jessica Parker (SJP) suede booties and a petal scarf from artist Nellie Rose. Shearling starred on Miuccia Prada’s fall runway in extravagant shades. The designer well-known for mixing tough and fragile, paired voluminous jackets with delicate silk dresses.
According to Karl Lagerfeld for Chanel, fashion’s a supermarket. Trade your stilettos for more practical but luxe-looking sneakers and shiny metallic trousers to wander the aisles.
